CC was referred to us for counselling and was having a really hard time dealing with family issues. After speaking to her on the telephone we arranged to meet at The Angel Centre to chat about some of the activities available.
DV attended Job Club. He had been unemployed for over two years, only interrupted by a short spell of employment, lasting only a matter of weeks. DV has ADHD and finds job searching very difficult, as he was easily distracted. He also needed a new CV.
AL came to the zumba class. He was the only male in the class and felt nervous at first. He was quiet in the first couple of lessons. He hasn’t had any Zumba experience.
MA wanted to learn how to cook as he had no experience of cooking whatsoever, he felt it was time that he started to eat healthier. He is married and his wife has always taken care of preparing meals for him.
MD had arrived into the country around 4 months ago and wanted to improve his communication skills and integrate into the local community. He had been a volunteer in his own country (Turkey) and had helped to plant over 500 trees.
C arrived on a First Steps Confidence Building Course with a history of low mood and low self-esteem. Struggling to self-motivate and having developed a habit of putting others needs above their own.
AG decided to give yoga at. She had previously suffered from psychosis and was at the start of her recovery journey.
CM came to The Angel because he was struggling with his eating and had been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. He liked to have KFC or McDonalds several times a week. He was doing some weight lifting exercises at home and use to go to the gym.
MA came off drugs last year and since then, has spent most of her time in her flat. MA started coming to the Angel Centre for Food Club in November 2022. She describes her mental health at this time as terrible, often having manic episodes with her bipolar and ADHD.
