Social adVentures opened their outdoor education centre in 2018. Based at our Garden Needs site in Salford we deliver a variety of different outdoor training experiences at the centre and out in the woods.
L3 Forest School Leader Training
This course starts with 8 days of face to face learning involving practical outdoor sessions and classroom sessions. Following this you can start to lead your own sessions and will work on a portfolio alongside this as part of the qualification.
One of our tutors will observe you leading different sessions with your own group. You will then be able to submit your final coursework for marking.
The course takes 9 to 12 months to complete. For more information click the link below.
L2 Forest School Assistant Training
This course enables practitioners to assist a Forest School Leader in delivering sessions. This shorter course can also make up part of your level 3 course.
It consists of 5 days of face to face training, observations and a shorter portfolio which takes around 6 months to complete.
Schools and Youth Sessions
We provide a number of training opportunities for young people including the John Muirs Awards and the Wild Passport Scheme.
We have a limited number of opportunities to go into schools and work with class groups to provide forest school education sessions alongside teaching staff.
